Donnie Harrison
Previous Wake County Sheriff
I am delighted to offer my enthusiastic support for Whitney Hill in his bid for Raleigh City Council District A. I first met Whitney in 2021, at the start of his political journey, and have been impressed by his unwavering dedication to our city and its residents. Since moving to Raleigh in 1990, Whitney has witnessed and responded to the city’s rapid growth, raising important concerns about the increasing challenges we face, such as the shortage of first responders, the housing crisis, and rising taxes.
Whitney’s approach to these local issues-particularly his focus on public safety, support for law enforcement, and ensuring Raleigh remains affordable through responsible growth-reflects his deep commitment to the city’s future.
Whitney’s entrepreneurial and corporate background equip him with a keen understanding of local economic dynamics, making him a strong advocate for both residents and small business owners. I wholeheartedly endorse Whitney Hill and am confident he will be an outstanding representative for our community on the Raleigh City Council.
Donnie Harrison served as a law enforcement officer for 26 years before being elected Wake County Sheriff from 2002 to 2018. His effective leadership and community-focused initiatives helped him win re-election to serve four terms. Post-retirement, Donnie continues to support law enforcement and community initiatives.

I am delighted to endorse Whitney Hill for the Raleigh City Council Seat, District A. I have had the pleasure of knowing Whitney and his family for over 20 years through our shared involvement at Triangle Christian Center. Throughout this time, Whitney has consistently demonstrated his commitment to his family, his work, and his community.
Whitney has been actively engaged in volunteer church positions, including assisting with church IT decisions in a CTO role, helping with church security, and setting up and managing serveral “Jobs for Life” classes. His commitment to community service extends beyond our church to the city of Raleigh, where he has been a vocal advocate for increased staffing and salary enhancements for the Raleigh Police Department.
Whitney’s dedication, drive, and genuine concern for others make him an excellent candidate. I am proud to support him and believe he will be a valuable asset to the Raleigh City Council.
